This morning I was on my DELL, and I wanted to change my display settings for a higher resolution. I changed it all the way up, now whenever I start my computer, it says "Signal out of Range."

It shows everything properly from the Dell Initialization to the Windows 98 Startup Screen. But when it starts loading my desktop, I get this RGB message that says "SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE".

Can someone please help me!!!!!!!

Boot into safe mode, which uses 16 color standard VGA display. You could then uninstall or remove the video device driver, reboot, and reinstall it.

reboot your computer, and press f8 during bootup, then select to boot into safemode. when it boots, go back to your display settings, and set them to an available setting (one that you know works 🙂) Then reboot normally. Should be all set. When changing your settigns from now on, you should go to the advanced tab, and select to apply changes without restart. Thne if you select a disply mode that is unsupposrted, just let it sit for 15 seconds, and it will automatically switch back to the last mode.
