HELP! Monitor hangs when I try to start games & black screen when safe mode...

Is it my monitor or my video card???? Windows works fine but when I try to start BF1942 (which I play every night) it just goes to black and doesn't come back..... same when try to start in safe mode.

initial bios screen is squirrely too.....

well i reinstalled the nvidia drivers and nforce drivers and monitor drivers and it is slightly better

BUT when i am starting up the BIOS info is too big and the Windows XP boot screen is too large and doesn't fit... the same with safe mode and games. the text is too large and gets cut off....

i have set my default to 1024 x 768 but whenever BF1942 launches (or safe mode) it goes out of proportion.... What is causing this?

Will your monitor let you resize individually for different resolutions? BIOS (I think) and the BF1942 front end run at 640x480, as does safe mode...

I seems like I have lost the abilty to resize to 640 x 480 with my drivers + vidcard, etc.....

Don't know what to do.

I hooked the monitor up to my TV out on my laptop and it works fine in 1024 x 768 but when I shift to 800 x 600 it goes crazy again.....

So I think it's the monitor...... Any thoughts????

WEll time to end this little thread party of mine.....

It is the monitor and it only works properly if i press "auto sync" and the images are properly resized..... Time to send the monitor in for a repair.
