Help! Missing Thread. Anyone else notice threads evaporating?

I had started a thread in HotDeals on IBM Thinkpads.

It had grown to about 4 pages of posts.
It was there Friday Night or Saturday Morning (9/7, (9/8)
But Saturday night it is GONE:Q

Not Locked.
Not Edited down.
EXPUNGED!

None of the posts I made to it are in my recent history either.
They were there previously.

Anyone else notice any evaporating threads?

I asked the Mods and they don't know what happened.
Apparently it wasn't intentional whatever happened.

And NO, I don't have a copy of the thread or my posts to it.

Are you sure they didn't just start it over for the benefit of dial-up user?

- It was only 4 pages. There are MANY more threads with more pages than that.
- If it was started over, then where is it. Mods can't find it.
- Restart with No Notice!!?? Than wouldn't be nice.

- 4 pages, 99 pages , no different from 2 pages. Threads load 1 page at a time, you can jump to last.

- What's a modem?
