HELP! Microphone input won't work on Epox 8RDA+

Hello all,
I know this seems like a no brainer, but I can't get the mic input on this board to work.

I tried using every nVidia sound driver I could find, from v2.0 to v3.13. None of them make any difference.
I have the mic enabled in the nVidia control panel and have even tried MIC2, but that doesn't work either.
I am at my wits end and I even tried plugging it into the other two jacks on the board just to make sure they weren't labeled wrong!

I tried the mic on another computer (Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe) and it worked just fine.
I simply plugged it in, enabled it in the nVidia control panel, and all was well.

If I do the same thing on the Epox board, nothing.

I thought it might have something to do with the fact that I'm using the digital audio output card (from the Epox site), but it still doesn't work if I switch over to the analog output.

If I can't fix it, I think I'll RMA the board. I have two months left on the warranty...

Anyone have any suggestions???

Use the NVIDIA software to configure the onboard audio to 2-channel audio. The MIC port should now function as a MIC and not audio output.

It doesn't matter if it's set to 2 or 6 channel. If the digital output is active, neither the rear NOR the front Mic input works. Try it yourself and after wasting hours of your life (that you'll never get back!!!) you will discover that this is true: Neither Mic input will work with digital output enabled.

I'm not just reading this in some manual like you are, I have 2 of the POS boards and they both do the same thing.
(I know: "...don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel...") 😀

Besides, If I switch to 2-channel, I will loose my 6-channel surround sound! No way I'm doing that! (Epox piece of junk!) Oh well, I don't think I'm in any danger of buying any 8RDA+'s anytime soon (or ever again!).

If it had been designed PROPERLY in the first place, the end user could use the 6-channel digital output and the Mic and Line-in SIMULTANEOUSLY!!!!!

I found a better way... I bought a Labtec USB Digital Microphone and it works GREAT! (especially for in-game chat).
