i ordered some Crucial modules (PC133, CL3) and they don't fit the memory slots of my mobo. The latches could not click into the memory modules' groove. is there any difference between K7T Pro and K7T Pro2A (memory slot-wise)?
thats odd.. I wouldn't think so.. are you sure its pressed down far enough.. sometimes they are a bit hard to fully seat in the slot.. unless they sent you the wrong memory..
I know the feeling.. in the back of your mind you see the memory module snapping off in the slot, cause your pushing down with quite a bit of force. luckily I haven't had that happin. "knock on silicon"
You shouldn't have to force when you put ram into the slots. I've had more people call me and say hey my ram doesn't work, go down there rams cracked in half! I never had to aply force when adding ram, and I never will 🙂
how did you get it in the slot then? I know my current motherboard is pretty tight. ive got two different dimms in there from 2 different manufacturers.. and both are tough to get seated correctly.. maybe my dimm slots are just out of spec or something.
Sometimes they are very tight,I remember on a old Abit board I had you could hear it creaking when I had to force the ram in because it was so tight ,lucky I`ve not damaged any modules or boards yet.
