i'm in palo alto, ca now. anybody know where the indie record stores are in this area? thanks.

dunno bout Palo Alto, but in there are many great ones around the bay, Rasputin, Streetlight in SF; Amoeba, Rasputin, Mod Lang in Berkeley, Rasputin's in Fremont, Rasputin and Streetlight in SJ...well i get em mixed up, but Rasputin's is a nice chain selling new and used

and while i'm at that, what's indie songs, indie movies, indie stores, etc??

"Indie" stands for "independent." An "indie" movie is usually one that was not financed by a major studio; an "indie" store is one that is not part of a big chain. I don't know about "indie" songs. Perhaps this is the same as so-called "alternative" (i.e. exactly what all the other kids are listening to in order to seem rebellious while conforming slavishly to their peers' norms. ;))

i know about those......they're just far from palo alto
