HELP ME!

I just built my first computer. I have an Abit KT7, 750 TBIrd, Diamond Monster MX400 Sound Card, and an ATI AIW Radeon. I am running Windows ME. The darned thing freezes on me ALL THE TIME. What is my problem. I have talked to tech support at ATI, Microsoft, Abit, and Dian=mond and they aren't sure what the problem is. Is this a case of Windows ME not liking my hardware? Or is this an issue with something else. I have already downloaded the lastest drivers for all.

Im not sure but i would say its the Radeon. i just bought one and have ben fighting freezups on my system for a week.i cant even run a good 3d screann saver for more than an hour bbefore it freezes. It didnt do this with my 5500 or my G-force mx.So for me i know its the card. You may want to try and put in another video card and see what happens.just a thought.

With a new system there is so much to check. IRQ assignments, BIOS settings for memory, etc.
But one thing for sure. ATI is known for buggy drivers. YOu might try some different or older drivers for the video card. Try re-seating the memory, processor and cards. Or selectively install just the video first without any other hardware to try and narrow the problem area.
You don't mention your power supply. With Athlons you got to have a 300 watt or bigger. Power is sometimes an issue with Athlon based systems.
Windows ME is fine! Format and install just the video and see when the problems start.
Be sure to use the VIA AGP 4.03 drivers and make sure you install them in "turbo" mode.
