as some of you know, i joined match.com recently.
when you view a profile, you can do 1 of 2 things.
you can send your possible match an email and say whatever you want to say or you can send them a wink.

this is the definition of the "wink": Telling other members I'm interested and want to know more.

now, would you rather receive a wink or would you rather receive an email?

email could be a little more personal and could add a little to whether they reply to you or not.
winking would be useful to find out if they are interested in you, without sounding dumb in an email.

Has dating in the 21st Century become so electronic and inpersonal?

if you do it online, apparently
well, not really, because the actual dates don't happen online. its just the meeting part thats online and not very personal
