Help me with the start of my paper..

I've done all the research and have a good outline but I can't figure out how to start this paper! Any ideas for a first sentence? The topic is modern china's media system (tv, film, etc.) and how it's history, the economy, and politics affect it's media (and thereby culture)..sounds easy but i can't think of a snazzy first sentence...

Well, the communist rule made propoganda media the norm. The politics of china had a direct impact on the media thereby shaping the nation's culture...

Media is important in today's world. The communication of news to many people at any given time is a difficult task to achieve. Technology used to reach thousnads of people must be up to date. China for example, .....
