Not smart to mix and match. Modern mobos are very fussy about RAM. Also modern mobos tend to be more stable with 2 sticks versus 4 sticks. If you're overclocking don't even think about using more than 2 sticks.

You're better off buying 2 1Gb sticks and selling your old RAM.

ALso, make sure to use the RAM manufacturer's memory configurator to find the memory that's properly matched to your system. Corsair.com and Crucial.com have a configurator on their websites. Most others do as well. This forum is littered with posts made by people who bought just any RAM that was on special at their favorite mail order store and then had a nightmare of timing issues afterwards.
