help me with my radeon 8500!

whenever i turn in counterstrike, or serious sam, the FPS gets really choppy for a sec while im turning on the y or x axis. im using the 5.13.1.6043 drivers, but everything else seems really quick. i score about 7000 on 3dmark2001 SE. im using it with my Tbird 1.4Ghz and 256 PC2100. ECS K7S5A. Does anyone know what he problem is? thanks

You're not using D3D are you?

in your display properties, go to the advanced tab and u should see some ati stuff. go to opengl, and disable "wait for vert sync" or something like that. also... if u have AA enabled... that will cause choppy gameplay too. i just figured my 8500 peevs today... after i ironed them out... everything was golden 🙂

also... when i had my radeon vivo... when truform was enabled, it hurt my fps bad. i dunno how much truform will affect the 8500. u could try to disable it and see if that helps too. to disable truform, u can type this in the console: ati_npatch 0
or you could modify or add that line into your config.cfg file.

The currently supported driver is 6014. Try it instead of a beta and report back.
