I have a T-Bird 1.33mhz with a cooler master DP5-6131C hs/f combo. Along with a MSI K7T Turbo2 motherboard,,with 196 of sdrram. I am running a Geforce2/Ti/64. I can run 3DMark2001se at 4485.
Can I expect much of a overclock from this setup with the CPU?
My video card is running at 270/455 which gives me 4485 on 3DMark2001se.
Any overclocking tips or ideas will be greatly appreciated, or anyone owning this kind of setup or close overclocking very well?,TYIA

A couple ways to go about it.

One way is to increase your fsb till you cant go any farther. Another is to increase your multiplier till the same happens.

increasing the fsb on your setup will take you up 10mhz per 1mhz of fsb. The muliplier will increase you 133 mhz per 1 step of multiplier added.

Usually fsb will give a better score when benchmarking. Some people take the multiplier down and the fsb up. in your case I would try for 140fsb and keep the muliplier at the same spot. That will give you a total of 1.4ghz. Increase the fsb by 2 or 3 until you get unstable responses.

The ideal is to find what the max Ghz your cpu will perform at. Then get as high as your system will go with the fsb. And drop the multiplier down to make them match the total cpu speed.

example. You find your cpu will run at 1500. and your max fsb is 144. you can run 10.5 multiplier and 144fsb to get you to 1512mhz. Just take some time tinkering with it to figure where your limits are.

According to the Overclockers.com database, the average 1.33 Thunderbird overclock is 1536. Two people with Coolermasters hit 1600. One person with a Coolermaster and an MSI K7Turbo motherboard hit 1533. Another person with a Coolermaster and a K7T266PRO motherboard hit 1523.

Well, all i can seem to do is up my FSB. I have it at 141 now, at 1440. i'm running 3dmark2001se at 4651.
How could i overclock more. when i uped my vcore it would not post properly.
I plan on staying up all nite if necassary,so if anyone would be interested in walking me thru this and watching what we may be able to produce with this setup just post back with some ideas or methods..TY

Have you tried changing the multiplier? It might be locked though. If it is it wont hurt to change the multiplier in the bios. It will just post at the default 10x if its locked.

<< I have my FSB at 150x10>1500mhz. What would happen if i put my multiplier to 10.5? >>

It would go to 1575 and either post or not. :) Unless you haven't unlocked the multiplier in which case it will stay at 1500.

How do I unlock the multiplier?
And how would I know if it is locked?

This is what I have now for my settings.
cpu v-core----Default ( it goes from 1.550v - 1.850v ) as I said it is at Default now
FSB-153
CPU clock - 10

is there more settings for me to access for maybe try to get to 1600MHZ?,,

try 10.5 multiplier. That will get you to 1606. If it wont go then search around here for a link to some websites that show you how to modify the CPU to allow multiplier changes.
