Hi guys!
I just put together a new setup- ECS K7S5A, Duron 1000 and a Visiontek GF4 MX 440. I love the card so far- stable, fast, and it looks great. I am having an annoying problem though. Whenever I press the start button upon exiting any game, the left side of the start menu (where it says windows 98 on the blue stripe) is garbled. Sometimes it is white, sometimes black, etc. This happens with any game-D3D or OpenGL.
At first I thought it was a heat issue since the Visiontek has no fan. So I hooked up a small socket 7 fan to the heatsink. The card barely gets warm now, and I still get the problem.
Then I tried the newest drivers...nVidia 28.32. Same problem.
This is on a fresh install of Win98SE-so it can't be the result of leftover drivers from another vid card. The only other drivers installed were 27.something drivers, and those were completely uninstalled.
Not a power issue-I have an Antec TruePower 430W PSU.
Any ideas? As I said, I have no other problems. The card and the system run like a champ.
