It doesnt print anymore. When I try to print something out it will sound and look like its printing as usually (paper gets pulled in and the u can hear the print head moving) but when the page comes out it's completly blank now. It used to print out a few ink spots but now its completly blank.

things i have done so far:
put in new ink, used the hardware printer head cleaning function, and used the software cleaning function, downloaded the epson status monitoring software and it shows no error. the printer itself also shows no error message.

anybody know what's wrong?

I have the same printer. You've done everything except one thing; I'll take a shot at it. Lift the cover. On the extreme right-hand side there's a lever that sets the thickness of the paper. If you have it set all the way to "+", the print heads will not make contact w/the paper. If this isn't it, I'm out of ideas. Good luck.

Have you refilled the cartridges? If you have, it could be that the print heads inside the printer are very clogged, and you are SOL. I had a 740, and that's what happened with me. But with all the money i saved refilling, it more that paid for my new Epson 777 printer.

-ok, checked that and it was all the way down to 0, so that's fine.

mrbios- i never refilled the catridge but did use a generic print catridge wich was advertised to work instead of the oem ink catridge. the generic worked fine for me for about half a year now and its just now that the printer is acting strange.

micheald - I don't know why but apperently using ur method to change the paper thickness has cured the problem eventhough it was set at the correct location to begin with. I just moved it up and down and now it works. thanks.
