So last weekend I was carrying my Verizon phone in one of the leg pockets of my carpenter jeans. I accidently left it in my pants when I washed them, and only realized this after I washed them, but before they were put in the dryer. So I let the phone air dry for two days, and I tried to charge it and when its connected to the charger, everything works. But when I unplug it from the charger it doesn't work, which leads me to believe the internal battery is shot, and thus the phone. Any ideas on what to do and will verizon let me get a new phone?

Thanks!

Verizon will "let" you get a new phone (I'm not sure if there will be an activation fee.) If you have the equipment protection insurance, there will be a $30-35 deductible.

When you drown a phone (or almost any other gadget), your best hope is to remove the batteries so that the device os no longer getting any power, and then take it apart as far as you can. Clean any dirt, laundry detergent, etc., with a liberal amount of isopropyl alcohol (isopropyl is good because it leaves very little residue and it absorbs water), then let it dry completely before you put it back together.

This won't always work, but on the other hand, it's the only thing you can do. It might not be too late for you, but if you take it apart and you see any corrosion on the board, it's screwed (if not now, soon).
