Ok, i looked at my procssor, been sittign in my cpu holder for a while till my other rig comes in. i look and tthe pins are bent. alot of them. took me 3 hours with really good tweasers to get the pins back to normal. then i tested it. runs perfectly fine for the first 72 hours. thne windows xp pro is getting all kinds of errors, roller coaster tycoon 2 would for some reaso ntake 30 minutes to load instead of 3 seconds, and some games crashed and others didnt. what is wrong, can a cpu be half broken?

As long as the pins didn't break, there should be no problem. You may want to provide more details as to what you did(just plopped cpu into a working system or more?).

the system works perfectly fine, i was using my overclocked 1800 at 2000 speeds then i put the 2000 in it. it runs fairly stable but the computer froze when prime 95 was on for a few hours, and it never ever did before. it may be a fluke or something, ill test it out later, system specs are:

a7n8x
512mb pc2700
60gb
winxp pro

im guessing it is broken, the pins are all there perfectly aligned it fits in the a7n8x. When i load it up bios temps are 47C. i load windows, turn on prime 95, runs for about 2 minutes then it all freezes, does this every single time, my 1800 runs perfect. but i have noticed when i take the 2000 out the heatsink it was using was extremely hot(as in burn yur finger skin off) but it used to always use the heatsink with great temps, the contact area of it is filled with the correct amount of thermal greese. guess im gonna have to buy another cpu. i have a half useable athlon xp lucky me.
