I am in the process of finalizing my new system -- specs:

Coolermaster Wavemaster case (2 front fans, 1 rear)
Antec Neopower PS
Asus a8v mobo
1GB corsair twinx XMS 3200c2pt
Athlon 64 3500+ 939pin
arctic silver 5 thermal compound
Zalman CNPS7000A-alcu cpu cooling
NVIDIA GeForce fx 5200 (256MB)

I am having problems finding info on some issues. First of all, the a8v has cool n quiet technology, as well as the asus q-fan technology. However, the neopower has fan control for up to 2 fans as well. I have two front fans and a rear fan in my case, in addition to the CPU fan. My question is, should I be routing fans through the neopower and allow it to control fan speeds, or use the mobo's features? If I am using both, for example the rear fan running through the mobo and the front fans through the neopower, is this a good idea or will they not operate optimally? I don't want my system pulling in two different directions or not cooling properly.

Next question is, the instructions for the arctic silver suggest applying a rice-sized dot of paste on the processor and then attaching the fan, allowing the pressure to spread the paste. The instructions for the Zalman fan, however, recommend spreading it out before attaching the fan. Which is better, or does it even matter? Also, how long should I wait before overclocking with the arctic silver? I planned on waiting at least two weeks to let it do its magic before pushing the system too hard.

I would also like to hear any comments on my chosen setup, if anyone has a similar system or experience with these components I'd love to hear about it. I chose the processor based on economy and ability to upgrade (hopefully soon) to the fx-55 or other 939 pin processors...
