I'm not getting any answers over in the software forum so I though I'd try here.

Using IE 5 I was visiting a less than reputable web site that decided to hijack my IE. It reset my homepage, which I fixed, but now when I click on 'tools', 'internet options', I get this error.
I tried downloading the IE admin kit but it won't run because I get two errors, first this, and then this.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE several times. I had a friend send me a copy of wininet.dll and renaming the old one and putting his in it's place. Nothing's working. Help! Please!

P.S. I can still get to the internet settings through the control panel

Do you have a virus scanner? Have you checked for viruses? Is your security level set to default or maximum? Otherwise reinstalling windows might help (not a reformat/reinstall, just rerun setup and let it correct any corruptions with your system).

Let us know what happens.

Hey Felix, thanks for the input.
I do have Norton and that was the first thing I did. Security is set to Medium. If I can't get this worked out an easy way I've been wanting to install Win2k instead of 98 anyway. I would like to get this solved however!
