Hi all, while I am waiting for my Abit KT-RAID mobo to arrive, I figured I would get some answers to a few questions I have.

Do I need to install all the drivers that VIA offers?

Such as:

VIA 4in1
AGPminiport
IDE busmaster
IRQ Route
VIA INF

or do I only need some/none of these? Thanx for any info.

BTW I will be running Win ME.

i think you have done all the important ones if you install the 4-in-1. i only install that, and everything runs fine.

I find that SB Live! drivers (especially the SB Emulation) part will fail to install (Freeze up) if I install the VIA drivers first. I did the exact opposite, install video, Voodoo2, SB Live! drivers first and then install the VIA 4-in-1 drivers. NOTE: I left out the Bus Mastering drivers section. Win98 SE has BM for it already.

Anyone has any benchmarks to show which BM drivers (VIA's or WIN98SE) the better performer / lower CPU utilization?

Unfortunetly, my Voodoo2 seems to be able to run with the original drivers. The latest ones from Creative don't even work. 3D games fails to work. The latest 3DFX drivers is even worse, BSOD. This, however, occurs with or w/o VIA 4-in-1 drivers.

I've got 98SE and a KT7-RAID. I installed the drivers in this order:

1. VIA 4in1.
2. VIA USB driver
3. Microsoft's VIA USB patch
4. Graphics (NVidia 6.34)
5. Modem (USR)
6. Soundcard (SB Value Live 1024)
7. HPT370

Always let Windows reboot whenever it asks you to. I only got a stable system if I turned off ACPI by doing "setup /p i".
