Problem. The computer seems to not work normaly above 16 colour, Lags up horribly. It worked fine before.
In the Device manager under display dapters i have;
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/ model 64 Pro
Standard PCI graphics Adapter (VGA) (Yellow exlemation mark)

When i open standard pci graphics adapter it tells me under device status
"Your computer's display driver will not work with Multiple Displaay Support. Contact your hardware vendor for assistance in obtaining a display driver that will work with multpile dispay support.

Under NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model it says its working Normally.

Other note: computer was workign fine. then was shutdown for couple months and now its acting up like this. Any ideas?

You must force the driver from the device manager, yes when driver is capable for your operating system. It might be your VGA is not TNT or driver is not compatible with your VGA chipset. Last option would be checking your chipset on your VGA.

NVIDIA RIVA, werent those the video cards by nvidia that overheated eventually, cooking the gpu since nvidia didnt put even a heatsink on them?

Standard PCI graphics Adapter (VGA), do you have only the nvidia card in the system, or another one too? maybe even an onboard video too? maybe thats the one your plugged into that is only 16 colours and needs the drivers?

I didn't read your details that carefully the first time, but I suggest disabling/removing the onboard device (using the device manager) then rebooting, going into the BIOS to set the PCI device as the primary display adaptor.

Hi, thanks for all the inputs. Yes i belive i need to update the nvidias drivers. Il go try to do that and disable the onboard video. thanks 🙂

clicking on automatic update it claimed there are no never versions.
All thou the Inturupt request for the TNT2 is 10 and he inturupt request for the adapter is 05.? should it be other way around if i want to use the TNT2?

Well, i went into the bios. For some reason the PCI slot was disabled?? Well i enabled it and now its all working again. THanks for everyones input 🙂
