Help me with a decision

I have the money to buy a pretty good upgrade for my machine, but need help deciding which would be best.

I have an AMD Athlon 1800+ XP, GF4 Ti4400, and 1GB of Samsung PC-2100 DDR-RAM.

I'm trying to decide whether I should:

Get an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro for about 500CND

Get an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro for about 625CND

Or get a new Asus nForce2 Motherboard, and an Athlon Barton 3000+ XP.

What I'm wondering mostly is if I get the new Mobo and CPU if my crap memory will slow it down and prevent me from getting the most out of it, on a viewable level.

Bartons run at 166MHz FSB, so the memory would be overclocked to run in sync with the FSB. If you can't get memory with a new MB and CPU, then get the Radeon.

However, IMO, your system is pretty good already and you don't need to upgrade anything you have listed, right now. You might enjoy a new sound card and speakers, pick up a nice monitor, or get a nice cordless keyboard and mouse. Peace.
