Hi,
Please help this newbie on this wonderful forum in picking his first LCD monitor. After scouring the net and reading a lot of user reviews, I was all set on getting the Samsung 971P. I know it's expensive but my eyes are not great and I probably won't buy another for at least a few years so would sacrifice the initial coin. Then I come back to this forum and I see in the LCD buyers guide that the author has replaced his Samsung 971P with a Viewsonic 930B explaining the rev 3 version has addressed previous problems with the monitor. The Viewsonic certainly is cheaper and I've been very happy with my PF790 Viewsonic CRT. My monitor viewing preferences are in this order, digital photography viewing and editing, watching computer and DVD movies and light to moderate gaming. Also an important feature to me is the wider the viewing angle, the better.
So if anybody has comments on choosing one of these monitors over the other, I would appreciate your thoughts or if you have alternative suggestions. Also if choosing the Viewsonic, how do you know and can tell if it is the Rev 3 version?
