Help me w/ front dash car speakers

Speaker comparison

Anyone know enough about speakers (I'm sure *SOMEONE* does) to be able to give me their opinion on which pair would be best? I only need front dash speakers. I like to hear my music, so volume and bass are priority. Also, please tell me why.

Out of those I'd do the Pioneers probably.
But if it were me I'd step up about 30 bucks more or so and go here or here

...Why the Pioneers? What's the deciding factor in your opinion? Also, I don't have the extra $30 to cough up.... $40-50 is my budget.

The JL Audio doesn't come in 4x6 plates, at least from your link

I 2nd the Reference series but since he didn't link to it on Crutchfield it probably doesn't fit. References are a bitch to fit on newer cars - I just sold both pairs I had (6x9 and 6.5) b/c they wouldn't fit in my 04 Accord.

IN reference to the original link though - the Bazooka first, Polk second, based on the woofer composition/surround materials.

In case anyone was wondering, they're going into an 86 Buick LeSabre Custom. They're 4x6 speakers, and unfortunately my old Blaupunkt speakers from my old car were smaller and won't fit. Too bad too, they were decent speakers.

If you were happy with Blaupunkt, get those again. Why the Pioneers? I've heard other Pioneers (granted, of a higher line) and wasnt disappointed with the sound. As for THAT line of Pioneers, I really dont know.

My rears are currently Blaupunkt as well (6x9, don't know the exact model offhand), and my speakers have always pleased me. Unfortunately they don't fit in my current car....

Gotta Dremel? Modding speaker mounts is real similiar to modding cases. Just cut the sheet metal to fit.

Nope, no Dremel...

My Buick has 4x6 mounts that are rather... odd. Buick doesn't like to lend itself to modding 😛 My old speakers are 3.5" squares, so that's 2.5" of room it doesn't fit into....
