Ok, I am looking to upgrade my AMD system this summer and the mobo I have, with an Athlon 1.4, says it will support the Palomino core, XP 1800+. First, I imagine it will also support the 2200+, right? Also, After Palomino comes Thoroughbred, then Barton, am I right here too? Does anyone know if the Barton will be available by say June or July and if there will be any mobos that support it? Also, will my mobo support it (I realize it doesnt say that now, but when I bought it, it didnt say XP either)? Hopefully this will help me decide when and how far to upgrade.

thanks in advance.

BTW, I have the MSI K7T266 Pro R (6380)

it has been heard around the tables that the new cores will come with higher fsb versions (166, 200, 266) so your mobo may not be compatible, im sure though upon release there will be a dozen companies waiting to spit out mobos you will be able to use though ;-)
