help me use nlite

i've never slipstreamed an OS before.

i have an old WinXP Pro 32 that i use to install windows everytime i reformat. i'd like to slipstream sp2 + sp3 onto one disc so i can skip through all the updates... can someone give me instructions on how to use nlite to do this? please?
 
Hey Louisss, nLite has a guide HERE, that may give you a better feel of how to do.
You don't need both SP2 and SP3, just download SP3 which has all previous updates sp1 and sp2 included, get that HERE
All you need is cd-writing software on your machine, such as easy cd creator or nero.

Create 2 folders, whereever you like, just remember location, download SP3 in one folder and copy your WinXP cd contents into 2nd folder.
Following the guide after you intergrate, you can bypass the next couple steps, then you create an .ISO image.
Save the .ISO image in case you lose or your cd gets ruined.

I've heard others say that it is necessary to put sp2 on, then sp3 because sp3 in fact contains certain older files from the RTM and sp1 of xp. Nlite will extract the iso of your xp cd onto the computer in a file structure. You add the sata drivers (most new laptops) or the service packs or whichever you choose, and then nlite will reburn the cd/dvd with the newly modified directory structure. You then install xp like you normally would and the install will have the newest updates & drivers. Make sure to save both isos as trashman mentioned. Good luck!
 
I installed SP3 on a fresh Windows install (and no, it wasn't the SP1 or SP2 discs) and it didn't need SP1 or SP2 so I fail to understand your logic.
 
You should start with an XP CD with SP2 already slipstreamed into it.
MS says in order to install SP3 the pc must have at least SP1 or SP2
already installed. So that seems to imply that SP3 does not have everything
of SP2 and updates afterward to date of release. As to slipstreaming, you
can use NLite, but I prefer Autostreamer which was very easy to use.
You really only need to use Nlite if you want to remove some items from XP
itself, but that is a user preference as to which to use.

I was not aware of issues with SP3, but if true or just want to avoid problems, I'd do like bruceb suggested, slipstream sp2 with your XP disk than, make another disk using SP2 to slipstream SP3. That should hopefully solve that.
