help me upgrade

Hi!
Ive got this motherboard:

my motherboard

And I want to upgrade my CPU. someone told me I could go for amd xp 2200, but isnt that just for an bios-updated turbo2?

Can anyone help me? Need to know this before i spend my money.

sorry to tell you, but your board uses the kt133 chipset

this means it only supports 100mhz fsb (all the athlonxp's and most of the old athlons require a 133mhz fsb)
your upgrade is limited to a 1.3ghz(200) or 1.4ghz(200) (or any of the athlon (200) cpus)..... you can't use the 1.33ghz (266) or the 1.4ghz (266), or any of the 266 athlon cpu's

Get a 1Ghz Duron and overclock it to 1.25Ghz or get a 1.4Ghz Duron and you will be maxed out.

it actually says that my mobo supports 200 fsb and if you follow the bios link on the webpage it says an upgrade will let it support up to xp 2200 this is probably only with a turbo2 mobo. (dont know)

anyone know a good prize mobo I can buy and a good prized cpu?

again sorry to be give you bad news, but your board does not support 200mhz fsb

athlons/durons are double pumped so they are often times labeled as 200mhz and 266mhz (for marketing purposes) but its actually 100mhz and 133mhz

if you check the link again to the bios page you will see that its only for "For K7T Turbo, K7T Turbo Limited & K7T Turbo2"
but because of the link you provided im assuming you have a "K7T Pro2-A"

the K7T Turbo, K7T Turbo Limited & K7T Turbo2 all support 133mhz fsb.. so they can be used with the athlonXP

hehe i forgot the rest of your question...

good priced cpu is the athlonXP 1600+ (newegg.com has them for less then $63 shipped)
and for a motherboard i like the 8k3a (mwave.com has an epox 8k3ae for around $80 shipped)
