I've used my XBOX1's XBMC for years to stream videos from my PC - it's been so long that I don't even remember how I used to update XBMC it. I am having trouble playing an H264 mp4 file (it just won't start) so I'm thinking I need to update to the latest version. I haven't done this in years.
I went to XBMC.org and grabbed a binary which apparently is just run on windows. So that's not it. Can someone direct me to how I can upgrade my XBMC version (and in case it fails, how to back it up in case it gets FUBAR'd?) - I know how to FTP into the xbox to modify the .xml file... but that's all I remember right now. If it matters, it's a xecuter chip'd XBOX and the only thing I use it for is to stream videos from my PC - that's all I care about.
Is it as simple as FTPing new files and writing over the old ones? Not that apparent on the website.
