i was sitting at dinner today, drinking a glass of chocolate milk and my freind said to me:
"dude, why are you copying me? i started this chocolate milk fad a while ago and now everybody is drinking it.. you're only drinking it becuase you saw me with some"
the funny thing was- he sounded really upset by this- like i was cramping his style or moving in his terroritory or something... (you'd think i was hitting on his girlfreind) and it made me think, a lot of people are like this. My girlfreind for instance, spent 100 dollars on a nice pair of shoes. Two weeks later she saw some other girls with those same shoes and went off-
"why all these girls have to copy me? why cant they just be original and get their own shoes"
and she hasnt worn those shoes since... This made me think more- i used to be (still am) a blink 182 fan.. back before the 'all the small things' days. And some of my freinds were too. And then as soon as blink 182 "sold out" and my freinds got really pissed at them for 'selling out' and stopped listening to them.
why do people get upset when something becomes popular? obviously stuff becomes poplular for a reason, becuase it is good. Why can't they just accept that?
so does anybody else notice stuff like this- or is it just me?
