I am tired and can't think straight.

I have:

Antec SX630 case 300W Antec PS
XP1600+ not overclocked
ECS K7S5A mobo
256MB PC2100
Matrox G450 32MB Video card
IBM 60GXP 40GB
16x DVD
40x12x48 Liteon
Firewire Card
3Com NIC

I have everything assembled, hit the switch and nothing. PS supply is turned on but the fan does not spin up. No POST, no nothing.

All connections are secure. What am I overlooking. All of these components are brand new.

Help me think, please!

double check the ram make sure it clicks ddr ive heard 20 lbs pressure to seat it sometimes

make sure vid card seated good

me i would take out all the cards and start fresh and put i stick ram cpu vidcard see if it posts might also make sure mobo isn't grounding out

if it posts go on from there if not try a different stick of ram and make sure all the wires and plugged up right and fully seated

hope this helps

With this motherboard you have to really lay on the memory modules and the AGP card to get them to seat properly. I mean push on them really hard. The AGP card in paticular, if you don't hear it "crunch" twice, then it isn't seated properlly.

Hope this helps.

Do you get any fan startup??? If not it is likely wires from case (ie switch, reset, etc.) are hooked up incorrectly or board is shorting itself out to case....

To solve that take it out of the case and lay it on a piece of cardboard and start it...also forget all the led bullshit...just power, reset and speaker....

If you get fans then likely not wire or shorting issue....try above reseating items...any beeps???
