My landlord had all new windows installed in our building today. My freaking roommate didn't really move a thing away from his windows,he also didn't remove the plastic covering them or the blinds, the room was a total pit as well.

"I don't need to move anything, they can just go get a ladder to reach over my stuff to get to the windows"

He creep then announces he's going out for the day ! Leaving me here to deal with 3 construction workers who spoke little english and the landlord who's eyes were popping out of his head when he saw how dirty my roomie is !

I have moved every stick of furniture in this house twice today,I've vacummed, mopped, and set the comp's back up, I sat here freezing most pf the day because there was no way I was leaving all our stuff here with this crew running in and out, leaving doors wide open.f

Guess who's home now and mad because I "violated his space" by moving stuff ,he says that I need him to teach me how to "stand up for my rights"

Not for nothing the old windows were horrible,he complained to me daily about how drafty and cold his room was,it was a PITA to do this but well worth the effort !!!

Grrrr !!!!! please ,help me keep from killing this guy !!

Oh, and my landlord says that I've GOT to do something about this guy's cleaning habits, he wants his room in the same condition as the rest of the house by the end of the week or I'm going to have to give him his notice .

I feel your pain. My in-law has not bathed in roughly 4 years (unless you count sponge baths), has more filth piled up than a city dump, and never bothers to clean. I'd use a Wal-Mart bathroom before I used hers.

My advice would me to talk to your roomie about what's bothering you, about his habits, and level with him about your landlord's ultimatum.

Your roomie is one of those "it's all about me" people, and will never change. This is the kind of person who will blame you for everything.
One of you needs to move.

What I'd like to "level" at him right about now is a shotgun !!! I had no idea his room was still in this condition, we'd had a HUGE fight about 10 days ago and he was making cleaning noises, he also finally taken a turn at cleaning the bathroom
and done a really good job.I almost died when I went to check his room. I'm no Mrs Clean but this is totally unacceptable.

LOL,He ought to count his blessing that I'm old and my back hurts too much right now to go off on him :)

tell him what you think...and what you had to do...
if he doesn't change...
some moths/cockroaches/rats and other vermin in his stuff will tell him he's too messy

You know, everybody I've ever lived with thought the same way, there was "everyday clean" and then yikes, the landlord's coming, let's hurry and clean it up. I really do most of the work in the common areas and keep things up reasonably (I have to to,I do business here) so he's only got one freaking room to worry about.

I had that problem once.

My roommate was a slob on the same level as yours sounds to be. I was trying to find someone to assume the lease on our apartment (I couldn't stand the filth anymore), and when we were having people over to view the suite, he wouldn't bother to clean up his DISGUSTING room.

His response when I questioned him about it?

"I don't care." :|

I eventually got out of the lease a short while later.

LOL,I would if my back would let me get out of this chair

on the plus side, the new windows are GREAT, and moving all the furniture meant that I vacummed and dusted EVERYWHERE, so the rest of the house looks good, I even cleaned my big desk and all the comps :D

Actually I'm gonna tell him that either he cleans it or I'll do it... hehehe... by popping out one of the new windows and throwing stuff to the curb :D

Give him the notice. Better off living alone and broke than having someone like that around. I'm sure you'd find someone better.
