Help me to choose between 2 cases

Hello,

I am hesitating between 2 Antec Cases.

Can you help me to choose ?

Antec P280

Antec Nine Hundred 2 V3

What model is better than to the other ?

A good air cooling and not a high fan noise.

Please to explain to me !

The processor will be I5-3570k.

Thank-you !

P280 is designed for quietness, not air flow.

Nine Hundred Two V3 is a bit older design but in terms of cooling bang for buck, it's damn near unbeatable.

Personally I'd lean towards Antec Eleven Hundred. Modern design, roomy, great looks, side window. Even at the low-fan setting it's great at cooling. Even better if you add intake fans.

I agree with lehtv,
I own a bunch of 300's and my main rig is in a p182 which I love. I dont know why they changes the internal design so much from the 182 to the 280. I built a few systems in the 902 cases and they are nicely designed also and run a bit cooler.

Is the Nine Hundred 2 V3 better than the Eleven Hundred ?

The Nine Hundred have 4 fans installed.

The Eleven Hundred have only 2 fans installed.

Is the low speed good for all use ?

When the medium and high speed are recommended ?

Are the noise fans on the nine hundred and eleven hundred acceptable ?

Is iti correct to have only 2 fans on the eleven Hundred ?

What do you think about dust filters installed on each model ?

I'd say Eleven Hundred is better as it has more up-to-date features. It looks better, it's roomier, the HDD cage is sideways, it has a mesh for upside down PSU orientation, cable management is much better, all drive-bays are toolless. I think all of these combined count for much, much more than the extra two fans you get with Nine Hundred. The Eleven Hundred is already a beast at cooling with the included fans, few people need better and if they do they will find extra fans.

Pretty much. Unless running a heavily overclocked rig, low speed is fine.

At the low setting they are definitely quiet, nothing to worry about unless you're bothered by any fan noise at all.

If you want a truly quiet/damn-near-silent setup get a Corsair 550D and add 1-2 more fans then run them all at 500-700RPM with a fan controller. Such a setup would be good for moderate overclocking.

My final decision could be :

Nine Hundred two V3.

I like the 4 fans with blue Led.

What do you think about blue led on any fans ?

Is it to tall on a desk beside the monitor ?

Is it a case with a good value ( reliability and solidity)

The blue LEDs are a matter of personal preference. Personally, I don't like them. If you do, great. 🙂

IMO, it's not a bad size to be on a desk. It shouldn't look too awkward.

The value is pretty good overall. It should be very sturdy and take a lot of use and abuse and keep on ticking.

I had a Nine hundred Two V3. It was the hardest case to work with, especially the HDD bays. Cable management was terrible and it had 3 USB headers with 2 connectors.. Most mobos only have one header on the motherboard and it comes with no adapters to convert to USB 2. You have to remove each section of the front to install HDDs into the bays and it gets troublesome in a full case. I was so happy to find a dent in the side of the case after I was done. I packed it up and gave it back to Bestbuy and went with an Antec one case.

Hi,

But, If i want a silent pc.

The best buy could be the P280.

It have 3 fans installed.

2 fans on the top and 1 fan on the rear.

The P280 is a similar model than my fridge. 🙂

What do you think about this style ?

Order to you, Is the P280 a good value of reliabilty and solidity ?

Do I should clean the inside of the computer if i have dust filter installed on the computer ?

Are there much dust in the computer with dust filter ?

Thank-you !

P280 is a nice case but as far as silent cases go I'd rate Corsair 550D and Fractal Design R3 higher. They have blockable fan mounts while Antec P280 easily bleeds out noise from the top...

Under it? I don't think there are rubber grommets under the case. Do you mean the ones on the motherboard tray?

Legs of the case to stand on the desk.

What do you think about the quality of these legs.

I have read some reviews that the legs could are detached of the case.

Is the 550d of Corsair really better than the P280 of Antec ?

I don't want add any others fans in the case.

Give me 2 or 3 good reasons to choose a model than to the other ?

OK, 3 good reasons to choose 550D

1) has noise dampened side panels (soft foam)
2) the roof of has fan slots but they are blocked by default; on P280 the top will be always open and thus more noisy
3) 550D weighs 25% less

On the other hand, P280 is a bit more roomy and costs slightly less.

Friend did a build on a Antec Nine Hundred 2 V3 case looks great and super good for bang for the buck. I just bought a corsair 650D and am loving it :O
