I am currently building me a new system for gaming. So far I have got these pieces.

OC System PC3000 2x512 (1 GB duel channel set)
Gigabyte GA-K8NS Ultra-939
Seagate SATA 120 GB Hard Drive w/8 MB cache
Generic 550 Watt Power Supply
Visiontek Xtasy 9800 Pro 128 MB (Oc'd to 450/750)

No all I need is a cpu. I am on a limmited budget so I want the best cpu for the money. I can overclock to the limitations of my RAM so any suggestions would be appriciated.

why would you buy a generic 550 watt PS? For your system, an Antec 350 should be fine. (A 430 would be good if you were to upgrade to a better card like the 6800GT at a later point)

Yes, for the love of god please get a real psu and not some generic pos. If you want the best cpu for your money I would probably go with a 3000+.

the make pcWHATEVER ram, but the only *official* are pc1600, pc2100, pc2700 and pc3200. I'm not sure what the latest one is. There are some pc3700's out there, and the main reason you would want them is if you want to overclock your frontside bus by a large amount, if you buy this ram, it wont hold you back. Or what many other do, buy pc3700, clock it back down to normal, and set the latencies very very low.
