Help me title my internet Christmas radio station

I currently have a Christmas radio station at live365.com. Here's a link. I upload MP3's, and it broadcasts 24/7/365. I started it 3 years ago as a way for me to listen to my Christmas MP3's at work. Then I found other people started listening. So I've been adding to it every year, and now have over 4 hours of programming.

Well this year, more competition has started, and I've dropped to #9 in the Christmas listings. I'm really wanting to work on it, and make it the most popular Christmas station this year. The first thing I want to do it find a catchy name. When I started it, I just named it Christmas 2000. Each year, the only change I make is to the year. Other station names include Radio Christmas, North Pole Radio, Christmas Radio, and Traditional Christmas. Most of them are 56k and 33k broadcasts, where my broadcast is high-speed. I'd like to incorporate that, to lure listeners who want a high quality stream. Something catchier than Christmas Broadband, but something that will make my station stand out as braodband.

All ideas are appreciated. I will announce my choice (assuming I like one) when the thread dies. Thanks!

Polar Express: High Speed Christmas Radio

or some diravation of that. I kinda thought Polar Express sounds nice (I also love the book ;)), but you probably would want to play with the rest of the title.

Either way, good luck! I'll tune in when I have the chance.

I agree, that is a nice first reply. I have some reservation about Polar, as it's not real Christmas-y. Maybe a derivative, like Rudolph Express or something.

More suggestions please! :)

OK, let's take a vote. I like the Express idea. Which one would you be most likely to click on to listen to?

Christmas Express: High Speed Christmas Radio
Rudolph Express: High Speed Christmas Radio
Santa Express: High Speed Christmas Radio

I think I'm partial to Santa Express, and will probably use it, unless I get overwhelming feedback against it.

I settled on "Christmas Express: High-Speed Christmas Radio." I went with that over Santa Express, because only the first 2 words are shown as the title. I wanted to make sure "Christmas" was in my title, as it could easily get passed over.

Feel free to bookmark the link above, and listen as it gets closer to Christmas. I'm hoping to make it the #1 Christmas station, based on listening hours, and I've got a long way to go!

This isn't related to the topic, but didn't the RIAA start making streaming internet radio stations pay some sort of streaming royalties on the music? Unless of course the music is yours (as in you wrote/composed/published it) to begin with. Not trying to start an argument or anything, just curious...

I will look for the Phantom Planet tune. Not sure I'll add it though, as my station is more traditional. The stuff we grew up with as kids. I love Phantom Planet though! Jason Schwartzman (Max Fisher) rules!

As far as streaming internet radio stations paying royalties, yes, I pay a monthly fee to run my station. A small price to pay to bring Christmas joy to others. ;) I get no other benefit but that. No advertising (except the few ads that Live365 adds, which listeners can avoid by becoming "Preferred" members for $5/month), and no monetary kick-backs. Just a hobby. Please take a listen and enjoy.

put "blink 182 - i won't be home for christmas" (i don't think that's dirty)

"blink 182 - happy holidays, you bastards." (that's just a wee bit dirty) :)

Yeah, if it wasn't a family, traditional station, I'd love to add Mr. Garrison's "Merry F'ing Christmas" :D

Yeah, I wasn't sure if your playlist consisted of the old x-mas songs which is totally cool tooo.

i can't believe you've heard of phantom planet!!!! that's awesome. yeah you should definitely check out that song. the lead singer, alex greenwald, has an amazing voice and they do a wonderful cover. It's actually pretty mellow and nice. :) Hope you like it!!! (and yes, rushmore was an awesome movie!) i'll be sure to check out your station. i'm sure with the AT effect we can make it number 1 :)
