I ordered a bunch of fans with blinking lcd's. Is there a way to make it on always? I am looking for an easy fis like just cut a wire or something not totaly replacing the led.
At a guess theyve fitted flashing LEDs there now so cheap its not worth them puting the circuit it to make standard ones flash - As for cutting a wire - well thatll turn the leds off ;-) prob not desired result
If you got those from SVC Compucycle, or the like, then the LED's themselved flash as MXMan stated. No way wound getting them not to blink besides replacing them. sorry.
I was kinda figureing that I couldnt get them to stop flashing, o well. Will it work to just cut the lcd out? so it wont light up at all but still have the fan work correctly? I dont know if some current has to go through there or something. They were cheap at svc unfortunetly didnt say flashing on the site But cheap fans none the less! dew042: Great solution in fact I dont have to mod them to do say i believe they came that way! Would be a little weird if i opened the ups package to see blinking leds on the fans going on and off. Could scare people with it though... mainly the UPS guy
i would tend to think the led either gets the dc power in parallel or after the fan, so ripping the led out won't hurt anything, but you never know.....
Has anyone of you bought the svc blinking led fans? Have you ripped the led out and it still ran the fan fine? Just wanted to see before I go and screw something up.
