I am researching as to which motherboard to purchase and need help.

What is the best Chipset (I see intel and SIS and VIA)?
What is the best Board?

Depends, do you want a AMD chip or intel??

For Amd I say look at a Epox with the 8235 southbridge

For intel look HERE It has everything I can think of and is only $125

This is the wrong approach to spending money ... you need to find a system that does what you need it to do, and at the same time fits your budget.

There is no "the" best CPU, chipset, hard disk or whatever - it all depends on what you're trying to achieve and what you're willing to spend for this.

There is no right answer for that one, unless you want to start a flame war.

For the money, I would have to go with AMD. If you got a large cash flow, then the fastest processor belongs to Intel Corp. The processor doesn't make it the best gaming/reliable machine. Its the components built around it, powersupply, motherboard, video card, sound, ram, etc and the user who is on the machine. I've seen guys jack up their intel machines and vice versa for AMD.
