alright guys, so ive got about 1000 bucks (give or take tiny bits) to spend on a monitor and a graphics card. i know i want a 24" monitor, and right now to make a long story short its kinda between the Benq 241w and the Gateway FPD2485W.
Now, the thing is, i'm a BBY employee, so i do get some discounts on certain items...which makes it kinda an interesting situation..
If i go the benq route, im gonna be pressed for money on a vid card, probably have to go with a 1950 pro... the benq is 800 bucks off the egg, and i can grab a 1950pro for about 180 give or take. so right under 1000.
If i go with the gateway, i can get it for about 580 bucks, and that would give me enough money to grab an 8800GTS, which i can get at BBY for about 370 bucks...
according to the guys over at Hardocp, many have had issues with the gateway, but some are saying they absolutely love it...and i suppose i could always return it if i have issues... and it IS a bit cheaper....but if the benq is all that its cracked up to be, i dunno.
you guys think the 1950 pro is enough card to run 1920x1200 for playing DOD:S, BF2142, CoH, WOW:BC, NWN2, and then stuff at least for a while in the future? thats really my breaking point right now.
