Help me sound proof my window

Every morning, these stupid landscapers come and trim, weedwack, cut the grass and all that loud crap in the morning at like 8am. It's so f'ing annoying. They go back and forth outside my apartment window and it really irritates me since I don't usually get up until 8:30-8:45 since I don't have to be at work until 9:30.

I want to get some kind of material to put on my bedroom window that will block or significantly lower the noise level coming into my room.

What do you recommend?
 
Earplugs.

Seriously. Noise will come through the walls and probably anything else you put on the window. If earplugs don't work, then you'll know any other attempt will be futile as well.

If they do work you can try other materials in front of the window, just be careful and don't block it as you may be making a fire hazzard / breaking code.
 
Every sunday i use to have the same problem at my old house... every neighbour seemed to get up early to mow the lawn or work on their yard. After awhile the sound of a lawn mower was actually relaxing... even to this day when i hear a lawn mower while in bed, i think back to Sunday mornings when i slept in.
 
That pisses me off. Once that happened the morning before a huge ass test. I was so pissed. I went to the office and bitched at the old lady.
