I have two air conditioners that are sitting outside my house. I've had them for a few months now. I received them from my boss because he could not take it with him to his new house.

I do not have the hardware kit that usually comes with it to close off whatever excess space there is besides the a/c.

I need to know how, with wood, I can close off the gaps and make this a/c work like a champ!

For those of you who do construction and or just do home improvement stuff, I'd greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks!

Cheapest way is to measure carefully & have a home improvement store cut some plywood to fit the opening.

Er... put A/C unit in hole. Measure space leftover on sides of A/C. Cut wood to fit.

This doesn't seem like rocket science... also I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure you can buy some generic window A/C installation kits that should fit...

don't they have that polyurethene foam that expands like shaving cream and then hardens. that' stuff is pretty good and will probably give you the tightest fit.

also, it insulates VERY VERY well.
