Help me settle this argument...

I say the best golfer in the world is asian but my friend says the best golfer in the world is black. We are both refusing to reveal who our candidate "best" golfer is until we get your opinions on who is right.

I assume you're talking about Tiger Woods, whose father is black, and mother is filipino. Asians and blacks both like to claim him as theirs, but does it really matter? FWIW, I was at an asian awards banquet some years ago, where Earl Woods (Tiger's father, I think that's his name) was the speaker. He said that Tiger was raised as if he were asian. Now I dont know if he was just saying that because he happened to be at an asian awards ceremony, it wouldnt surprise me if he did, but that is what he said. Tiger doesnt really look very asian, and because his father is much more in the spotlight than his mother is, many people assume he's black. I dont really care, he's a great golfer, on par to be the best ever, and he is great for the sport, whatever race he is.

Well, I don't think the Asians claim him, and a lot of black people have never heard of him. I saw a bit that Chris Rock did when he still had the Chris Rock show on HBO - he drove into Harlem on a golf cart and went around interviewing black people about Tiger Woods, most people said "Tiger Who?" I say he's a great golfer, and his heritage has nothing to do with his ability.

Hehe, no Tiger's race doesn't matter to me. I just thought it would be funny for 2 guys to argue about how the best golfer in the world was and it turns out they were talking about the same person.
