Help me set up my Logitech Harmony Remote 676

I am so pissed off right now because I followed the install/update instructions for this remote, and it doesn't work at all. The buttons don't do anything and it says "Not yet updated. Please login at www.HarmonyRemote.com" I'm about to snap it in half if it keeps acting stupid, so if you can give me any advice by all means do.

I'm going on a run so just leave your suggestions/requests and I'll respond when I return.

Umm I remember my 680 being pretty straightforward if you followed the instructions on the web based system. That said, it toom me a couple of weeks to get it just right (having to call tech support at one point to add a delay for one sequence of buttons because you can't do that on the web, but they were great), because my configuration/devices are a bit complex.

Did you go through the web based wizard?

Yes, but the remote won't do anything because none of the buttons work.

When you're done with the online setup you have to update the remote (the actual transfer of setup). Without that the remote won't do anything.

There is a problem with the newest software and the 676. Use the disc that came with the remote and DO NOT update the software to the 5.**. Use the supplied software to update the remote's firmware and then you can use the latest (5.**) software. I had this headache a couple of weeks ago. I used the 4.** software and everything worked fine.
