I need help selecting some pc133 ram, as i think both my dimms just crapped out. It would be nice if it can handle some extra bus speed.. I need to know what i should be looking for, prices, ecc, CAS, etc.. Need the advice pretty badly, also any place to buy would be a great Help.. Thanks...

How about some PC150 ram? It will give you a bit extra so that you can overclock fsb's and still have more stable memory. Try Kingmax cause it looks like it's the best price after just generic ram(definitely should get some good ram when you are overclocking). Don't go with ECC cause it's not worth the price or the hassle.

Newegg has some Kingmax 256Meg sticks of PC150 for $70 now. Ram is so expensive, last summer/fall you could have bought the same for less than half the price.

hmm, i'll look into that, pc150 wouldnt hurt a bit. I'm also wondering if perhaps anyone else has some info on the kingmax memory? And yes, i know ram was really REALLY cheap earlier (last year).. WHAT HAPPENED!!??!

Not in stock and $8 shipping. ;)

How about their 256MB Mushkin High Performance memory (2-2-2 @ 150MHz) for $85 + $6 shipping. I'm thinking of picking up some of this. Is it better than the Kingmax?

Hehe When you get ram for that much less($15), is it any wonder it's not in stock? Newegg goes in and out of stock on high selling items fast but you can set it to alert you when it's back in stock again. The Mushkin is great ram but albeit at a higher premium. Any of these big names are good for PC133-166 ram: Crucial, Kingmax, Mushkin, Corsair, or Kingston. I would use any of these if I could find a good deal. You're not going to really get a whole lot more out of them than what the specs say.

I got a pretty good deal on some Crucial last summer, it was pc133 and then later I bought some DDR before it went up in price too. A bunch of us went in and bought several sticks so that shipping wouldn't cost much.

Yeah, normally I buy Cas 2 Crucial but I figure if I can get higher-spec'ed Mushkin for a couple of bucks more, then why not?
I'm REALLY trying to hold off on memory until the new XPs and new SMP boards are out though. I'm getting impatient ;)
