We have to give a 3 minute demonstration next Friday on something we have learned in Physics. It can be anything that describes a law or theory or anything dealing with Physics. I was going to do a guitar and base my demonstration on the Laws of Strings, but I don't think I will be able to get my guitar fixed before Friday (it's screwed up).

So, what should I do? I want something interesting, so just shoot out ANY ideas you may have.

The law of gravity. Drop something, let it hit the floor, and explain. :)

Seriously though - You could take a rope and move it up and down to resemble a sine wave, and explain why when the force hits the end of the rope it reflects and so forth...

build a cart...strap a fire extinguisher to it, and show how "equal and opposite forces" act

saw my college physics teacher do that once....

You can use the one they use in the caltech videos we watch its basically where one object is falling straight down and the other is projected towards it, and they always hit each other. Something like this

................x1
................|
........__....|
.... /........\.|
../............ X
x2

You project x2 at the sametime x1 is released and they hit each other due to some laws i forget and some reason I cant remember, maybe you can figure it out and let me know. But I know it works :)

Oh, damn, wait a minute! sohcrates, you gave me a great idea. I could build a small car and strap an 80mm Panaflo fan on it ;) That would demonstrate action/reaction AND propulsion.
