Well.. I'm looking at buying a barebones AMD system from Mwave.com.

Here is the link to it:

http://direct.mwave.com/mwave/ProdBAREBONE-AMDTBIRD.hmx?UID=&CID=&Back=BBONE.hmx?

I'm interested in the "266 mhz" version of the Athlon T-Bird, but they have several motherboards to choose from. I dont know much about motherboards or which company is better, so can anyone of you who know a thing or two about motherboards suggest which one to select?? thank you very much to those who help out.. Its much appreciated.

The abit and asus boards are very good for that setup. MSI is also great for reliablity though it my lack some overclocking capability of the abit and asus. Hope this helps. take care

I'm picking up the barebones as a simple upgrade. I currently have a P2 400, so I'm looking for a simple upgrade. I want to keep the rest of the stuff that I have (video and sound card, modem, monitor..etc)

I'd go with ASUS, Epox, or MSI. If you want to overclock MSI might not be the best choice though.

I love my IWill KK266-R as an SDRAM solution so far, extremely good sound for onboard, almost didn't need the GTXP but hey :D, I had to have it.
