Help me select a card for digital work

I'm going to build a new comp (3Ghz, 2GB Ram, lots of HDD space). This computer will be used for work on images (Ex: Photoshop), not at all for games. I need a card that:
*costs ~ $150
*can display 1280x1024 @100Hz

ATI has a very nice website where I easily found product specifications. I think a Radeon 9600 Pro will do the trick for me. I couldn't find display mode info on the weird NVidia site :-(. Can you recommend an NVidia product that would meet the requirements that I listed? Maybe Fx 5600?

For 2d image I'd go with any Matrox card. If you also are going to play then a 9600pro is your choice. Nvidia is still behind in 2d.
