So, I call the dealer assuming that if I can get the little plastic yellow elbow for the interior door rod that connects my door handle to the door trigger, that I could CERTAINLY get something as simple as those little spring clips that hold my air intake box together..........

(Air filter ain't doin' much if the thing ain't closed, right?)

.........so the dealer tells me.........."Uhhhh, nope. Only way you can get those is if you buy the whole bottom assembly. That part costs $273!"

I said, "Uhhhh.......buh-bye!!"

Of the 3 clips holding the rectangular box *sandwiched* together, there's one clip still there. I'm using zip ties to currently hold it down, but it's still not really *snugged* down. Any ingenius ideas for a substitute for those little clamps??

(Or if anybody's actually bought some before somewhere??) TIA!

I found a yard locally & gonna look there, but just in case any of the stuff I need ain't there, I'm lookin' for alternatives so I don't drive all over God's green earth looking for something piddly like spring clamps............THAT THE FVCKING DEALER SHOULD HAVE IN STOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I'm not bitter or anything...............:D

(P.S. Duct tape is just a little too messy. It'll work, but next time I go in there, you got all that residue mess.)

Precisely my thought except when I went there a couple years ago & found that they actually HAD those little plastic elbows that are waaaaaaay up in the interior of your door that connect the connecting rods inside to allow your interior handle and exterior handle to open your door from 2 different places.

When they had THAT part, I figured........F.........they're gonna have ANY dayum part. (WRONG!!!)

Also, I think "myusername" just nailed it!! (Brilliant!!!) I think that'll work like a charm!!! Gonna see if I have any around work here. Those suckers are sprung tight as hell. Sheeott, they might even do a better job than the freakin' OEM clips.........LOL!!!!!

;)

I would think that with a couple linesmen pliers, a hammer, and a vice I could bend some new ones out of welding rods.

How about some small c-clamps? I've got some that are only 1". You could always grind the ends to fit the lip it has to grab onto.

Actually, I think those "office" style paper clips will do the trick VERY well!!!

I definitely appreciate the feedback from everybody. Good ideas.......(well, except for the duct tape people.....you guys get to keep you "man card" 'cuz you answered....well....duct tape, but you're makin' us look too "cave man"....we can't use duct tape for Eeeeeverything...........hmmm.........or can we??? LOL)

I still have the junkyard as an option, but my gut just tells me it'll be one of those things that's the first picked thru in a junkyard car.

I think "myusername" definitely picked the ticket on this one!!! I'll letch'all know for sure!

;)

You are going to use a binder clip?
It'll rust pretty quickly under there, but heck, they are cheap, so why not?
