Help me remove an old driver

I posted this in the General Hardware forum first on accident:

I sold my 7800GT and purchased an X1900XT, which got delivered to me today. I'll be home in an hour to install it but was curious if I should boot into safe mode or something along those lines and remove all the nVidia stuff first, or to just go ahead and install the card first?

Also, which drivers should I install that are going to work the best with Oblivion?
