Help me remember which Call of Duty Game it is....

Long ago I played a demo.. or maybe a full version at a friend's house... It starts with you and a group of soldiers on an island trying to stop Japanese from developing a super weapon - a counter to atomic bomb? I thought it was World at War, but I got WaW now and the beginning is very different.

Which CoD did I play?

Also, a side question because whoever plays CoD might know this too. I saw a you-tube video where a guy is playing Modern Warfare 2 on his console and doing some kind of "trials" where he is not following main story, but just running around with a sniper rifle and killing bad guys. I believe it was either timed or counted and in the end he gets scored based on performance.
I don't remember these trials in the PC version of MW2, but then again, I never beat it! Maybe its something you unlock when you finish the game?

I think you didn't play any CoD. You were playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Sounds like the Spec Ops part of MW2. It's a bunch of mini-missions with specific goals/achievements.

I agree, I think the game your thinking about is Battlefield Bad Company 2.

To answer your 2nd question....The first Modern warfare had a "Bonus Level" where you had to fight through enemies on a plane and reach the cockpit in a certain amount of time.

Modern Warfare 2 expanded on this and had about 20 levels, If I remember correctly, that are based on settings in the campaign. As you pass levels, others will unlock. I LOVED these....I remember spending days trying to clear Chateau and Oli rig on the hardest difficulty level. I think these were infinity wards answer to black ops zombie levels? but yes, the PC version has them but I don't remember if you have to finish the campaign in order to unlock them....I would guess you do
