Help me remember the name to this game!

Back in the day I used to have a C64 and the pull-start wore out so I had to get rid of it. ;) But, there's a game I would really like to get an emulation of and I can't remember the name of it. It came on a single-disk compilation of games called "Megagames" and it was in a series so it was like "Megagames #". But I can't remember which one. But, the game is this one where you're a big plumber with these short plumbers following you. I believe the idea of the game was to get those little bastards to fix the pipes so water made it through the level. The thing that I remember for a fact, is after you beat each level, something goofy would happen on the bottom of the screen, like the monsters would be hitting each other or chasing the little plumbers or something. I know it's a long shot, but it's worth a try I figured. Please help!

Excellent. Give me a hand to hunt down a copy of Dogstar. It was a text based game on the C64 that seemed to be a ripoff of Star Wars. I got the distinct feeling that I was navigating (with short action verbs) through the Death Star.

Was it called Dogstar? Something else?

Through searching here I think that it is called "Deathstar". Find it on the alphabetical list, and then download the corresponding BLAST pack. Add a C64 Emu and you have instant retro fun. All you need now is an armband or something.

Cool! That's funny that there really is a C64 game called Deathstar. I could have sworn it was Dogstar. But the year looks right. I was in the 7th and 8th grade in 1984, and that's when I played that game at school.

Maybe we had a pirate copy that someone had retagged Dogstar. I wonder if it was licensed through George Lucas or just totally ripping them off. Like early rap music sampling other songs without permissions because the law hadn't caught up to the technology.

From what I read about the gaming industry back then was that it was kind of like a giant video-game company free-for-all. I think in some cases the opportunity for legal action was passed up to save money. Maybe I'm wrong.
