My friend is the proud owner of an Athlon 1.6GHz rig on an MSI K7-Master in an Antec SX-1040B case. The Vantec fans on the copper heatsinks are really loud (I don't know how he's lived with it for nearly 2 years now). The heatsinks seem to be great, but I'm looking for fan recommendation replacements that would keep the processors cool in a 75F degree environment on the floor. I believe they are 60mm fans... please let me know what you can think of!

60mm fans aren't really quiet because they have to move quite a bit of air through a small area. i would suggest getting another heatsink that uses 80mm or 92mm fans. that way, you can still get cool temps without that much sound. for a quiet system, look for fans that have noise levels of less than 25dba.

svc.com is a good place to start your search.

SilentPCReview if your friend. There are many people on their forums who have silenced a dual Athlon MP rig.
