Help me plan my vacation

Sunday or Monday I'm leaving Missouri and heading west. I've been all over the east, but I've never been west of Kansas.

Constraints:
~5 day trip, maybe 6
Going on the cheap, lots of camping, maybe 1 or 2 nights in a hotel
It's just me, all my normal road-tripping friends can't go.

Places I'm thinking about:
Colorado - lots to do and see, looking for recommendations
South Dakota - The Badlands look really interesting
Wyoming - Isn't that where Yellowstone is?

Maybe a bit of 2 states, like SD and CO.

Give me some ideas! Places to go, things to do, etc!

Any and almost all recommendations/advice are welcome.

Thanks!

In your place, I'd go to South Dakota, just because I've never been. It'll take you six days to get to Montana and back, never mind having time to do anything. Royal Gorge is cool, then you could head west to the Sand Dunes, or north to the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Colorado Rocky Mouintain National Park

week pass 15 bucks

Scenery is out of this world. Trophy class Mule deer and Elk walk right up to your vehicle.

Make sure you have good brakes when you go out there 😉

Sand Dunes and Rocky Mtn Natl. Park sound good.
Royal Gorge might be interesting to swing by.

Vegas + no money = no fun 🙁

Bump for the (hopefully more helpful) morning crowd!

ARE YOU CALLING ME UNHELPFUL?!?!?!?!? yeah i dont know jack about that part of the country. have fun tho

The badlands and black hills of South Dakota are awesome for camping and hiking. I wouldn't go there right now though. It's pretty hot and it's a tourist trap. If you want to go, hit it at the end of Sept or very early Oct when it starts to cool down and the tourists clear out.

It's a beautiful area with thousands of miles of hiking available.

Thanks for the tip vi_edit

I'm probably going to go to Rocky Mtn. Ntl Park and the Sand Dunes. Any Colorado information or favorite CO places to camp/hike/etc would be cool.

Thanks for the bump booger, it's been very helpful!
